Zia has been drawing since she was 3 but started pursuing art seriously when she was attending a summer camp at the age of 16. She cultivated her skills over years fueled by passion and a dream to make the kind of art she would see at comic book conventions, and started at first with sketchbooks and colored pencils. She switched to digital art when she got her first (non-screen) Wacom tablet at 18, and developed her digital skills for years until 2024, when she tried and found an affinity for oil painting. Today, Zia's final pieces are all in oil, though she still uses her skills in digital art in tandem with traditional sketching for preliminary work.

Her areas of focus include fantasy and sci-fi, horror, and unusual forms of whimsy. She draws inspiration from other visual artists, modern and historic, from cinematographers and photographers, and from the natural world she sees in her various road trips.

She records timelapse and process videos of some of her larger paintings for her Youtube Channel, and brings her original works to the various conventions she attends.

Zia takes private commissions on a case-by-case basis. She is also open for commercial work.
